Stolen Papers!

Europe attaches much importance to venerable documents.

The latest feature of the futile sport of digging up the snows of yesteryear is the theft from 78-year-old Jules Cambon of his private papers. Ambassador to the Court of St. James from 1898 to 1920, M. Cambon collaborated with King Edward VII in the formation of the Entente Cordiale between France and Great Britain in 1904-5.

Moscow and the novelist, E. P. Oppenheim, are alike suspected.
