Michaelmas Fair
Owing to the incessant fluctuation of the rate of exchange, this year's commercial fair at Leipzig was run under considerable difficulties.
Conditions at the fair reflect the general economic depression of the country. Few sales were reported. The only foreigners that went to Leipzig were speedily frightened away by the appalling prices demanded for hotel accommodation. Many exhibitors closed their stands before the fair officially came to an end.
