The Senate: P: Passed a bill appropriating $1,500,000 to, aid in the eradication of the foot and mouth disease in California (previously passed by the House). P: Adopted a joint resolution changing the name of Mount Ranier (Wash.) to Mount Tacoma.

P:Passed, after extended consideration, the Soldier Bonus Bill, with only slight variations from the form in which it had been passed by the House (see Page 3).

P:Debated the tax reduction bill. P: Paused in its labor for five minutes in honor of the late Charles F. Murphy, whose death was announced (see Page 5).

P:Adopted without debate a resolution directing the President pro tempore to issue a warrant for the arrest of Mai S. Daugherty (brother of the ex-Attorney General) and bring him before the Senate to answer questions in relation to the Daugherty investigation.

The House:

P:Passed a Senate bill increasing the pensions of Civil War, Mexican War, Indian Wars veterans, an'd the widows of veterans of 1812.P: Passed a resolution authorizing a joint Congressional Committee to investigate land grants to the Northern Pacific Railroad Co. P: Considered the Department of Agriculture appropriation bill and passed it carrying $57,000,000, but without a provision for free seeds to be distributed by Congressmen.

P:Passed a bill appropriating $2,000,000 for the protection of forest lands, reforestation and extension of national forests.

P:Adopted a resolution for a Constitutional Amendment giving Congress power to regulate the labor of persons under 18 years of age (see below).
