Died. Mrs. Frances B. Dawes, aunt of Vice President Charles G. Dawes; at Marietta, Ohio.

Died. Mme. Olga Novikoff, 77, famed Russian political writer; in London. She defended the Slavonic cause, endeavored to promote an Anglo-Russian alliance, worked with and on Gladstone, Matthew Arnold, Carlyle. She is credited with having averted an Anglo-Russian war in 1878.
