Notes
In Munich Explorer Roald Amundsen's latest book was refused by the publishers of his earlier works. They announced:
"Amundsen severed all connections with the German nation when, during the war, he returned his honorary membership of German societies. Not until Amundsen has made proper amends for his offensive behavior to Germany, the result of misrepresentations by the anti-German press, will this firm consent to publish any more of his works."
None the less Mr. Amundsen is scheduled to deliver several lectures in Berlin this month before sailing for America.
Herr Loebe, President of the Reichstag, with 40 members of that body and 400 other sympathizers, arrived in Venna for a great demonstration in favor of union of Germany and Austria. They traveled down the Danube by ship amid ovations. Thence he will go to Paris to consult with former Premier Herriot on the proposal--most distasteful to the French who view with alarm a strong nation to the west of them. Thence he will go on to the U. S. to attend the International Parliamentary Congress at Washington.
