Talley
In Manhattan last week, Marion Talley, 18-year-old soprano from Kansas City, Mo., daughter of a telegraph operator on the Missouri Pacific Railroad, who will make her debut in February with the Metropolitan, was interviewed. Said she: "I don't care for social affairs . . . . I am not interested in sports . . . . I do not like clothes. My sister Florence makes everything I wear . . . ." Soprano Talley is a tightlipped, strapping girl with auburn hair.
Other young U. S. women singing with the Metropolitan are Queena Mario, Nanette Guilford, Louise Hunter.
