Legislative Week

The Senate--

P: Adopted a resolution authorizing an investigation by a special committee of campaign funds and expenditures in this year's primaries and elections. (See below, "The Golden Apple.")

P: Passed a Civil Service retirement bill providing for maximum annuities of $1,200 a year. (Bill went to joint conference.)

The House--

P: Passed a bill providing $30,000,000 to be spent during three years in aid of 27,000 disabled War veterans. (Bill went to the Senate.)

P: Defeated after an acrimonious debate the Haugen farm relief bill, by vote of 212 to 167.
