Record

A red streak through the air, with gallant Major Mario de Bernardi as pilot, gave Italy a new record for speed flying last week. Piloting a special seaplane, the Italian ace averaged 318.57 miles an hour over a measured course, at times going 350 miles an hour. The previous record was his own, 296.94 miles an hour, established last November.
