Though onetime assistant to Mrs. Miriam Amanda Ferguson, former Governor of Texas, Author Davis forgets whatever she may have learned of female politicians. Her novel contains the highly artificial story of a woman governor who sacrificed her politics for her man. Obvious, banal, stupid, didactic, the Davis style has all the anemia of a lady's home journal.
