Merger
Western Theological Seminary (Evanston, Ill.) is, among Episcopal institutions, second only to General Theological Seminary in New York. It has a fine new $1,000,000 plant. Last week it got new endowments totaling about $500,000 by absorbing Seabury Divinity School in Faribault, Minn. The student bodies will be combined in Evanston next October, the merged institutions probably named Seabury-Western. Seabury having originally been named for Rt. Rev. Samuel Seabury, first U. S. Episcopal bishop, ancestor of Ward Seabury, Chicago businessman, and Samuel Seabury, New York inquisitor.
