Oldest

Last week at Lebanon, Pa., Dr. William Moore Guilford celebrated his 105th birthday. He began practice in 1852, is now the oldest U. S. doctor in point of service as well as of age. The University of Pennsylvania publicists, who snapped Alumnus Guilford up to exploit that institution's bicentennial celebration in 1940, claim that Dr. Guilford is the world's oldest doctor and the oldest graduate of a U. S. university. Still better publicity was the fact, that for Thanksgiving dinner Dr. Guilford ate turkey, two helpings of mince pie, took some wine, smoked an extra (fourth) cheroot.
