The list of edible weeds was enthusiastically expanded: milkweed, stinging nettle, amaranth pigweed, sow thistle, skunk cabbage ("cooking reduces offen-siveness"), toothwort, hog peanut, yellow goatsbeard, spatterdock.

To this advice many a Victory gardener said "Hmmm," thoughtfully purchased another packet of lettuce seeds.
