OPERATION TIME U.S.
In recent weeks we have told you a good deal about our correspondents in the Far East and other overseas bureaus. Meanwhile, on the home front, TIME'S editorial news-gathering force has been equally busy reporting the impact of the Korean war and other events on the U.S. scene.
It takes a staff of 38 full-time correspondents in our eleven news bureaus, plus more than 100 part-time reporters, to give TIME'S editors the kind of home-front coverage they need. The map above shows where our U.S. news staff is located, and the photographs show the bureau heads (and the Chief of Correspondents) who are primarily responsible for this news-gathering network.
