Another Reason to Dislike Lawyers

The savings-and-loan disaster may be a burden for taxpayers, but it's a boon for lawyers. The federal agency created to handle the sale of insolvent thrifts has set an annual budget for legal fees of $130 million. That's quadruple the cumulative $33 million it has spent on lawyers since its inception last year.
