Italy: the Toll So Far
The breadth of the current Italian bribery and corruption scandal involving government and business leaders is no longer just impressive; it's staggering. Last Tuesday, Finance Minister Franco Reviglio became the latest prominent casualty, resigning after being targeted for investigation. Warned Prime Minister Giuiliano Amato: "The life cycle of the government is running out." The 14-month probe's awesome numbers:
