In Fever Pitch, Drew Barrymore plays the girlfriend of a Red Sox fanatic.

What are you fanatical about?

My job. I don't mind spending the majority of my year at work. Everybody has something they are obsessed with.

You've been making films since you were a child. Is it an advantage to be an old hand at 30?

I guess it's the best of both worlds, right? I'm an old hand and a spring chicken all in one.

You're on your friend Cameron Diaz's new eco-travel show, Trippin'. Where did you go?

I went on the Chile trip. We slept in tents in the rain forest, and I got to hike over a mountain for, like, eight hours. I think the more of those experiences you can chalk up, the more of a fulfilled and enriched human being you're going to be.

What's your idea of fun?

I love roller coasters. I love good red wine. I love playing games. That's the way I would rather party--a bunch of friends, some red wine and [the board game] Cranium. I don't think you could have a better Saturday night.

You lost your dad recently. Was that difficult?

Very. I spent the last year of his life taking care of him, and although we were estranged for most of our lives, I got to have a really wonderful feeling when he passed because I did get so close to him. So his passing was a beautiful experience rather than a painful one for both of us. It's saved me years of therapy.

My friends want to know--how's your love life?

Nothing has changed. Status still the same.
