Abstract
One of the largest and most pervasive industries, the electronics industry has rapidly progressed in response to the customers' demands for diverse functions, lower costs, and higher performance and reliability. This article presents an overview, along with their important characteristics and properties, of the key materials used in electronics. Included in the discussion are semiconductor, substrate, attachment, case, lead, solder, metallization, wire, tape-automated bonding, printed wire board, conformal coating, connector, and cable and flex circuit materials.
