AbstractMagnesium fluoride is a by-product of the manufacture of metallic beryllium and uranium and is used as a flux in magnesium metallurgy and in the ceramics industry; it may also be used in the extraction of aluminum from arc-furnace alloys with iron, silicon, titanium, and carbon.
