AbstractTwo stable binary fluorides of titanium have been characterized: titanium(III) fluoride and titanium(IV) fluoride. A more important material commercially is hexafluorotitanic acid which is used as a metal surface cleaning agent. Fluorotitanates are used in abrasive grinding wheels.
