During lunch, an old japanese friend talked with us about “手塚 治虫”.
Among them is something about the relationship between “Jungle Emperor” and Disney’s “Lion King”.
I still remember those hot summer evenings before dark when we kids watching “森林大帝” together on a public TV under semi-open-air conditions. That’s the very beginning of cartoon.
Also about that time, I was curiously looking for manga “铁臂阿童木” – ATOM, astro boy. All these things were before another famous japanese cartoon — “一休”.
In my impression, Japanese works are interesting, right kids’ type, but not as funny as American’s — right, that’s the mouse and duck, not the transformer later on.
