Surrey

The first stop from Heathrow airport, as listed on Wikipedia, Surrey a most wooded county of UK southwest to London, with population a bit over 1 million, has the highest GDP per capita in UK and highest living cost outside of London.

To my interest, people related to Surrey include: William of Ockham, Michael Farady, Daniel Defow, Alfred Tennyson, Charles Dickens, Robert Browning, George Eliot, Lewis Carroll, George Bernard Shaw, Arthur Conan Doyle, H. G. Wells, Aldour Huxley, Alan Turing.

For sports, Cricket first occurred here. The Derby is originally meant for horse race. McLaren Formula 1 headquaters at Weybridge, where the world’s first purpose-built motorsport race circuit has been located since 1907, now partly Mercedes-Benz World, just across to Brooklands Hotel, where I stay. By the way, John Lennon and Ringo Starr once lived in Weybridge.
