(For fedora, database setup can be done by copying and executing /usr/share/zoneminder/db/zm_create.sql under mysql or phpMyAdmin. Otherwise, starting zm service causes a complain. Before using, as said, try xawtv first. Unfortunately, my old and cheap veo web camera was not supported by linux.)
